Mission photos from April 30, 2011, in the Danby, NY area
From approximately 1045hrs till 1145hrs, in an area stretching for approximately 5 miles on a winding East King and adjacent roads, centered at N42 / 24' / 04" and W76 / 55' / 2", the team took 13 photographs of tree blowdowns and roof tile damage.
A number of local residents were also interviewed casually, to find out if there was more severe damage to homes in the area.
They reported that to their knowledge, the damage locally was similar in nature - trees and bushes destroyed, tiles blown off roofs, local water damage, and light property (grills, pools, etc) damage.
A report to the ICP was phoned in at this time, and it was agreed that the survey should continue to 1400hrs.
From 1200hrs till 1230hrs, the team broke for lunch. At 1205hrs, a call from the second Group pilot indicated that, after overflight, the areas of Jersey Hill and Hilltop Roads should be assessed.
At 1230hrs, the team departed for this location in the Danby Area, and took 12 photographs of somewhat more severe damage, especially to one house on Jersey Hill Road.
The assessment area was from N42 / 22' / 43" , W76 / 30' / 53" to N42 / 22' / 00 , W76 / 31' / 32" along Jersey Hill and adjacent roads.
